Kelveragu Semiya / Ragulu Semiya/ Nachani Semiya / Ragi Semiya

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ragi vermicelli – 1 cup
  • Grated coconut- 4 cup
  • Sugar – 3 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder –1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 1 tsp (to grease steaming plate)

STEPS:

  1. In a bowl add ragi semiya. Add water just to immerse semiya. Allow the semiya to soak in water for 3 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile heat water in idli steamer and grease the steaming plate with few drops of oil.
  3. After 3 minutes transfer the semiya to greased plate and steam it for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes take steamed vermicelli out of the steamer and allow it to cool down.
  4. When the vermicelli has cooled a bit make sure they do not stick to each other. Gently fluff it with hands or fork.
  5. Now for the sweet semiya take half of the steamed ragi vermicelli in a bowl, to it add grated coconut, sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and serve it!

NOTE:

  • Instead of sugar add salt and chilly.
